In his interview conducted in Polish on the Lithuanian National Radio, HRMI Executive Director Mr. Henrikas Mickevičius introduced the HRMI activities and further plans as well as discussed the current situation of human rights.

An increasing number of insufficiently-supervised wiretapping and subsequent media publication of telephone conversations violates the right to respect for private life, warned HRMI Executive Director Henrikas Mickevičius in a discussion on AKIRAČIAI feature on the LR1 (Lithuanian Radio 1st programme), today.

IT specialists demonstrated at HRMI 12 July how conversations can be modified or transposed with the aid of a simple laptop and publicly available programs.

"The usage of the evidence of this type in the criminal proceedings is regarded with special reserve in the rule of law since the state-of-the-art technical equipment today makes it very easy to interfere with telecommunication devices, modify or create new contents of the transferred data, while the contacting parties remain unaware of this,” – claimed Henrikas Mickevičius, the Director of the HRMI, during the Press Conference on Monday.
