In the complaint filed today against "Krekevavos agrofirma" at the district court, Kestutis Cilinskas, Chair of the Board, called the dismissal of Dalia Budreviciene an unlawful retaliation for her exposure of illegal company practices.

HRMI Board Chair Kestutis Cilinskas, acting on behalf of HRMI, lodged an appeal to the Chief State Labour Inspector against the conclusions of the regional Labour inspection office in Panevezys. The appeal states that although inspectors did not find any procedural violations, Dalia Budreviciene was clearly fired in violation to the established procedure.

According to H. Mickevicius, the cream of the crop in this pyramidal structure has built the environment that is beneficial exceptionally to them thus imposing their will upon all the others in the system.

Today at the press conference three NGOs and two Labor Unions expressed their readiness to assist Mrs. Dalia Budreviciene, recently fired by one of the major meat producers for "tarnishing the name of the company" just after the woman publicly critisized the "envelope practice" - widely spread phenomenon when part of the salary is being paid unofficially without paying taxes and depriving an employee of a certain part of social security benefits.

At the press conference on March 21, 2006 HRMI launched a new study "Housing problems of Vilnius Roma community". Publication of the research opened the "Week against Racial Discrimination" organized by HRMI to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
