Today during the roundtable discussion “Price of Racial Discrimination: Effectiveness of Equal Opportunities Policy in Lithuania,” state officials, researchers and representatives of the NGO community discussed ways to ensure equal opportunities for all racial and ethnic groups in Lithuania. The event opened the "Action Week against Racism" and was followed by a press conference.

On March 10-26, Human Rights Monitoring Institute joined the international community in a series of events organized in Lithuania within the annual European-wide Action Week to actively engage Lithuanians for tolerance, equal rights and a celebration of diversity.

Board Member of the Human Rights Monitoring Institute Elected to Serve on the Committee on the Rights of the Child

On 12 February, during the 11th Meeting of State Parties to the Convention on the Rights of the Child at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, Dainius Pūras, a HRMI Board member, was elected as one of the nine new members of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child.
