Regarding the Invitation for HRMI Board Chair to Participate in the Parliament Elections

Kestutis Cilinskas, Chair of HRMI Board, has announced that his decision on whether to run for the Parliament sit in Alytus electoral district as a competitor to the business baron and figutive of justice Viktor Uspaskich will, primarily, depend on the final conclusion of this suporters.  
 
Today, says K. Cilinskas, he can only repeat that Seimas is not and should not be a shelter for individuals running from Lithuanian law enforcement institutions, and that he is ready to take all the necessary measures to prevent a fugitive from getting a parliamentary sit.

There are numerous problems related to the efficient protection of human rights in Lithuania, and Seimas is the place to solve some of them. On the other hand, people of Alytus electoral district have a right to to make a choice between a few candidates, and no one can blame them for their choice, states K. Cilinskas.

Chair of HRMI Board was approached by the representatives of the parliamentary political party - the Homeland Union. He was invited to take part and offered support in parliamentary elections which will take place in Alytus electoral district  on 7 October 2007 to fill in the vacant sit.
