Fundamental Rights Platform MeetingOn 15-16 of April Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA) will welcome around 150 representatives from non-governmental organisations dealing with human rights, trade unions, religious associations, employer associations, professional unions, academic and other qualified experts of European and international bodies and organisations to the 3rd Fundamental Rights Platform (FRP) Meeting – the Agency's key event of the year devoted to dialogue and cooperation with civil society.

The meeting will focus on the human rights dimension of poverty and social exclusion, and the Lisbon Treaty and its implications for the protection of fundamental rights. The participants will also discuss the Agency's Work Programme for the year 2012.

During the meeting, there will be the election of the new Advisory Panel and, amongst other topics, the discussion on the future strategy of the cooperation between FRP and FRA. 

Since the beginning of 2010 HRMI is a member of the Fundamental Rights Platform. FRP unites civil society organisations, working in the human rights field, especially with people who need human rights protection most. FRA seeks to engage civil society actors as key partners in Agency‘s research, human rights education, awareness raising and other activities. To serve this purpose in 2008 Agency launched the Platform, a network for cooperation and information exchange between the Fundamental Rights Agency and civil society, thus creating the opportunity for civil society to have a say on Agency‘s activities and thereby influence fundamental rights policies on the EU level. the EU human rights policy.
