HRMI urges MP candidates toward dialogue on human rights.

Recent events have demonstrated that insufficient attention to human rights can negatively affect political and legal process and undermine public credibility of state institutions, said HRMI in a relase today. 
 
According to HRMI, some law enforcement agencies have invaded politics, while politicians, being unable to ensure effective parliamentary control of law enforcement agencies, assert desperate pressure on these agencies.

However, despite numerous serious human rights violations that have come to light recently, the human rights issues still haven't become part of the political discourse. Current electoral campaign avoids human rights problems altogether or pays little attention to violations.

HRMI urged MP candidates to include human rights issues into electoral campaign.
