Actions of the Special Services: Where is the Line between Truth and Privacy?

An increasing number of insufficiently-supervised wiretapping and subsequent media publication of telephone conversations violates the right to respect for private life, warned HRMI Executive Director Henrikas Mickevičius in a discussion on AKIRAČIAI feature on the LR1 (Lithuanian Radio 1st programme), today.
 
The live broadcast analysed the actions of the special services that intersect in regard of the pursuit of truth, protection of national interests, political interests and human rights.
Mr. Nikolajus Medvedevas, the Chairman of the Commission for Parliamentary Scrutiny of Intelligence Operations, Lawyer Ms. Liudvika Meškauskaitė, and Ms Elena Martinonienė, the spokeswoman of the Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Lithuania took part in the programme.
