Disabled Person Allowed to Sign Unconventionally

HRMI helped receive a passport signed by foot for a person with severe disability. The man was unable to convince state institutions to allow him sign the ID card and passport using his feet instead of paralysed hands for years.

Human Rights Law Summer Study Starts Monday

July 19th, 2010 the International Human Rights Law Summer Study (IHRLSS) starts in Vilnius. Two-week intensive program providing comprehensive exposure to International Human Rights Law will host 31 students from 6 countries.

Request to Remove Prosecutor

Today Leonidas Donskis, MEP, Darius Kuolys, Director of the Civil Society Institute, and Henrikas Mickevičius, Executive Director of the HRMI, addressed Darius Valys, the Prosecutor General, again. They request removal of prosecutor Justas Laucius from investigation of Eglė Kusaitė case, and internal investigation into his activities.

Request to Meet Egle Kusaite – Rejected

Prosecutor Justas Laucius denied HRMI a meeting with a terrorist suspect Egle Kusaite. Henrikas Mickevičius was not permitted to meet the young woman that has allegedly been interrogated by Russian Federal Security Service applying coercion and violence.
